What happened at YCS Richmond?

Something that could only be described as a movie, at least that’s what the consensus was. After the dust settles from the main event, players find themselves either lamenting their abysmal finish or finding some way to celebrate their 2 day win-a-mat (throwback to the less than noteworthy prizing). What happened next was something truly spectacular. We here at TCG Fandom decided to throw a party for the Yugioh community. The turnout was incredible, the energy was unmatched, and we even got to witness the ‘Pendulum God’ himself celebrate by spraying a bottle of champagne! Starting to make sense why people called it a movie. This amazing time was sponsored by us, all we asked was that you purchase a digital collectible from our marketplace and in return you received 3 free tickets for drinks, and an entry into three separate raffles scaling up all the way to a PSA 10 Super Rare Anotherverse Dragon. We originally considered only allowing people with a digital collectible entry, but we changed it up to allow everyone to get a peek of what we are trying to do.

Why are we doing this?

We here at TCG Fandom are made of card game players first and foremost; its a passion to say the least. We want to be the place people go to, to celebrate players’ best moments. Our focus has been and will always be bolstering the community. We want to offer something truly unique inside of this space, something that other fandom’s already have. A place where TCG moments and digital collectibles can be collected and celebrated. We don’t want to stop having these parties and even more so we want to offer even more exclusive events!

Will this happen again? 

We sure hope so! As we eagerly await events to start back up we have a couple hurdles to address. The overall adoption and education in terms of a metamask wallet is something at the forefront of our minds. As with any emerging technology there is a learning curve, but this is nothing we are shying away from. We have produced helpful videos to assist with the creation while also making ourselves available at events to help! We want to make this as easy as possible so when an incredible moment hits the marketplace there’s no waiting. 

Why should I buy a TCG Fandom digital collectible?

We believe in this day and age that for a digital collectible to be worth its salt it has to have some kind of utility. Moving forward by purchasing one you are buying yourself a ticket into all of our future events. By doing this you are not only supporting us, you are supporting your favorite players. That also doesn’t have to be the only added utility. By leveraging the unlockable content section when creating you can add just about anything once someone purchases it. An example for brand ambassadors Chris and Hani, people typically hunt them down for their mats after an event to buy them and have them sign it. What if you could just purchase the collectible and be guaranteed that signed mat. No longer are you missing out on these items by either not going or not getting to them quick enough. What if you wanted to offer coaching through the collectible instead, maybe validate someone for continuous sessions based on them owning this ticket. All completely viable, the sky’s the limit and to us that is very exciting! 

What’s coming up next?

We have YCS Italy approaching this weekend. Although we sadly won’t be in attendance, Chris and Hani will be there duking it out against Europe’s best duelists in the coliseum. We expect a lot of great footage!

The week after we will be preparing to drop our first ever PFP collection so mark your calendars!

Also if you haven’t heard yet, Prodigy Games in Florida is running an incredible charity tournament on December 16th, with an Edision event on the 17th. Between the dunk tank, hot dog eating contest, and the tournament itself we will be there filming trying to get the best moments. Make sure to be there! 

This should carry us through the end of the year with more drops and events on the horizon. It really has been an incredible year for us. So much progress has happened over the past couple months, like it’s honestly crazy to look back on. We certainly don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon!
