Artists Love Trading Cards Too!

Whether or not you are an avid card game player or sports card collector, you probably owned some cards at one point in your life. Perhaps you still have your old Yu-Gi-Oh! or Pokémon cards scattered around in a shelf, closet or even shoebox. For me personally, I used to enjoy watching the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime when I was a kid, and would often build decks around the main characters of the show.
A few years later, I realized I wasn’t the only one who thought like that and ended up meeting quite a bunch of like-minded collectors. That very same passion for collecting cards just happened to be shared by many celebrities. Surprisingly enough, several of these famous collectors come from the music industry, with big rappers like Snoop Dogg and even Drake, all being quite fond of sports cards. Furthermore, Post Malone publicly shared his appreciation for the card game Magic The Gathering and even stated he spent hundreds of thousands for a Black Lotus!

While some of these public figures collected cards for their own pleasure, some others saw it as an investment. Similarly to real estate, stocks, bonds and NFT’s, collectible cards were seen as an appreciative asset that could lead to major profits. Quite a number of content creators on YouTube started documenting their trading card investing journey as they would do with their cryptocurrency or stocks portfolio for example.
